April Fool’s Day jokes are tearing across the entire Internet. The Palm Blog, on the other hand, told us they would NOT be playing a trick of any sort on us but instead, giving us an update on the Palm Pre and WebOS directly from the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco!!!

Keep an eye on PalmWebOS.org and we’ll keep you filled in on all the details. You can also keep auto-refreshing the Palm Blog and/or follow Palm on twitter. But personally, and we’re not bias or anything, we would recommend you keep yourself glued to THIS website for all your Palm info ;)

You can check out the event’s full schedule and take note that Palm is sponsoring the Opening Reception which happens tonight from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Remember, this is San Francisco time so for us East Coasters that is 8:30pm to 10:30pm – adjust your watch accordingly and now you know when to come back for the details.

abbottThe keynote address will be presented by Michael Abbott at 5:10pm so it looks like I lied, adjust that alarm for 20 minutes earlier. Here is the “session description”:

Palm stole the show at CES, unveiling the new Palm Pre – the first phone based on Palm’s groundbreaking new webOS. Mike Abbott, SVP of Application Software and Services for Palm explains how webOS will change the way users and developers think about mobile web experiences.

Based on the post from Palm’s Blog you would assume that something new and relatively big will be announced. If not, I will be hugely disappointed. Even worse would be if he delivers an April Fools Day joke from the podium which would equate to: “You waited all day for nothing. April Fools”. To me that would be going beyond “you’ve been punked” to a more “you’ve been kicked in the nuts” type of level.

By the way, the post by Palm in the via link does have some funny April Fool’s day stuff about jokes they THOUGHT about playing on us but decided not to… so check it out.
