Palm Pre Review by BGR

We saw the immediate opinions of BGR in regards to the Palm Pre a few days ago. Not wanting to jump to conclusions, they have put the Palm Pre through the gauntlet to provide a thorough review of the device – and the first one on the planet at that.
Allow me to summarize the results:
- Pre Screen is top of the line, best part of the phone. Still 2nd to iPhone (size being difference)
- Size disadvantage above leads to perfect fit in pocket/hand
- Keyboard: really not good. Like buying Ferrari and getting an Accord steering wheel.
- Feels cheap, plastic, light
- WebOS has a great start, needs developer support: release the SDK!
- Synergy is cool in concept, needs some tweaking (OTA updates anyone?)
- Battery life seems decent
- Browser is decent, zooming is choppy, switching portrait/landscape lightning fast
- App Catalog was empty so.. TBD
- Media player very good
- Conclusion: won’t live up to hype, only because hype has gotten WAY out of hand, but still a great 1st unit for WebOS!
