It seems the Palm Pre is roaring these days with plenty of hacks and homebrew apps to (almost) satisfy anyone. One of the most highly anticipated things is the desktop installer for Windows which allows you to install apps directly. Speeding along it is already in version 8.0 and won’t be long before we will no longer have the need to use more tedious methods.

In other homebrew news the Active Home Screen for the Pre is finally becoming a reality as we have screenshots of what it will look like. Users of this home screen will be able to get weather and news updates directly on the home screen without dealing with opening, closing and shuffling though cards. This will seem really familiar for users of the Today screen with Windows Mobile and Android. It may be a little while before this reaches all of us as it is only in alpha.

Lastly there is now a Fart application for the Pre because what would a phone be without the ability to fart? Am I right? Anyways there is really no need to go in depth with this one.
